The Pink Apple Festival Award will be granted for the second time in 2016. It is a cash prize of CHF 3000.- awarding special merits in gay and lesbian film making. This year the Canadian-Swiss Léa Pool will receive the prize. The award ceremony will take place on 1 May at the Fimpodium Cinema after the screening of «Lost and Delirious».
The Short Film Award has been presented since 2001. This cash prize of CHF 2000.- is awarded by a jury of film professionals. We will show the films taking part in the contest on 3 May. After the screenings the winner will be announced, and the filmmakers who are present will be interviewed in Cranberry Bar.
The festival audience will select the best documentary and best feature film by vote, both films will receive the Pink Apple Audience Award (Best Documentary Film) and Pink Apple Audience Award (Best Feature Film) respectively (in Zurich only). The winners will be announced on Thursday night, 5 May.
