Nearly 50 years have passed since the introduction of women’s suffrage in Switzerland, and 25 years since the women’s strike, Switzerland largest demonstration ever. We would like to know the following: What motivated these women? Which wrongs were they fighting? Why has the journal «Lesbenfront» disappeared? What about the women’s conferences in the Paulus-Akademie and Boldern? What are current queerfemtransinterlesb* activities? What are the issues of the «Grossmütter-Revolution» (grandmother’s revolution)? Why do we still need exclusive women’s spaces such as the Frauen*Zentrum? How has the University of Zurich’s journal «Rosa-Rot» featuring feminist and gender issues survived for over 25 years? And: what do we still need to change?

Feature film
This is a cult movie! «Anna & Edith» was a television feature film produced by the ZDF in 1975, to celebrate the «Year of the Woman», and the first TV production with a lesbian topic. Anna and Edith work for an insurance company. Anna has an affair with the division manager, whose name is Schönherr («handsome man»), and Anna has recently separated from her husband. Because their department is hopelessly overburdened with work, the women want new jobs to be authorised, but their manager tries to thwart these plans. With these political actions Anna and Edith find themselves becoming closer and closer. Pure «emancipation» in the pastel-coloured seventies!
